Turn Up Your Heat
Try turning up the heat in your home and waiting a few hours. The increase in temperature may be exactly what your pipes need to thaw on their own. This works best for pipes in insulated areas and may not work as well for those in uninsulated attics, basements, or garages.
Use a Space Heater
Place a space heater in the general vicinity of the frozen pipe, though you don’t want to place it too close to the pipe. Try heating up the overall area. The pipe should thaw and start flowing freely again. Don’t leave the heater unattended for long, though, because it could be a fire hazard.
Try Heated Electrical Tape
Wrap heated tape around the pipe. Some versions will need to be plugged in, while others are self-heating. Give these 30-60 minutes to work and try your pipe again. You may find that it has thawed completely. Don’t leave the kind that requires plugging in on the pipe for longer than is necessary because it could cause a fire.
