We talk to many homeowners who relish winter as a time when they can sit back, relax, and stop worrying about their homes. As long as they have prepared well, they feel like they can hibernate from home care all winter long.
While there are fewer things that need doing around a house in the winter, it is the prime time to take care of a few things. That way, you’ll be all set to continue caring for your home well when winter is over.
Make Lists
Set up some perpetual lists so you don’t have to think about this again later. Make a list for each quarter of things that you take care of around your house during that time. You can also label them by season if that’s easier for you. Make these on a computer or use a spreadsheet so you can check them off each year.
Plan Ahead
If you need to schedule maintenance or repair visits for the spring, try making those appointments now. It may seem early but you’ll find that many service providers appreciate scheduling these things ahead of time. That way, they know they’ll have business and you know you’ll get your service at a time that’s convenient for you.
Focus on Details
Look for little things that need to be fixed in your home. Cover up dings to your paint, replace that toilet paper holder, and more. These little things will make your house an even better place to live.
